At companions for the Journey, we are committed to holding space and stability for a person who has had a mystical encounter through trust in the Guidance of the Spirit, offer of invitation Love, patience, empathetic listening and remaining present to the person’s experience.

This form of accompaniment demands compassion, empathy, and love. Spiritual direction is a calling that requires continuous discernment, a deep awareness of God's presence, and the skill to help the directee recognize and appreciate God's presence both during and after sessions. It involves listening with the ear of the heart, fostering hospitality, and offering non-judgmental support with the mission of helping others draw closer to Christ.

Members must agree to commit themselves to an honest relationship with God, be wholeheartedly in the group process through prayerful listening, and be willing to share their spiritual journeys for consideration by others. The goal is to foster a spiritual community where the uniqueness and commonality of our desire for God are acknowledged nonjudgmentally and celebrated. We want everyone to feel valued and accepted in their Journey towards God.

Attendees will be invited into teachings, conversations, and practices designed to help us talk openly about our mystical longings and stories, which people often feel they need to hide or downplay. Together we will learn how to integrate the mystical into our everyday lives.
